A Quick Stop in Marion

We stopped in Marion on a whim as we returned home from Venturia, and got a couple of shots.  Marion is a pretty well inhabited town, but there were a few things to photograph.  A woman in a white SUV with a cell phone to her ear followed us around town while we took pictures and then followed us out of town for about a mile before turning around and heading back the other way.

The school below is still in use and well taken care of. Unfortunately, like most large buildings in this climate, the big beautiful original windows have been framed in and replaced with more energy efficient windows.

Yea, you guys are a couple of suspicious characters! How obvious, as if you didn’t notice! Hysterical. Wonder what she would have done if you would have stopped and confronted her. Maybe it’s best you didn’t. (That cell phone could have been a phazer in disguise.)

I live in Marion and I bet she was thrilled to have visitors- if you would’ve stuck around all the people she was calling would have showed up to have coffee and a visit with you!!! Main street used to have a flag pole with a big cement base in the center of the intersection. On each side of the base there were square, yes square, 4 way stop signs. We used to bring relatives, that were visiting at the farm, into town to show it off!!!
